CARNAMAH MUSEUM

8 Macpherson Street, Carnamah, Western Australia 6517

HIDE AND SEEK

When Blue first came into my life I felt it was important to socialise him in the town environment but I also wanted him to have the opportunity to be safely ‘off lead’ sometimes to stretch his legs and explore his surrounds. The outdoor section of the Carnamah Museum on Macpherson Street is ideal for this.

The outdoor collection of vintage farming equipment is displayed in an enclosed yard so your four legged friend can run around and won’t go chasing the cars that drive by on the main street.

We soon learned that its also a fantastic place to play hide and seek with your fury mate!

Take note, there is a large water bowl and a tap on-site for refills to quench everyone’s thirst.

Pop into the Museum to view a HUGE collection of farming, domestic and social artefacts. Open every Friday 1pm to 5pm and via appointment. Entry is free but a small donation is always appreciated. Click on the museum link below for contact numbers of our CA Historical Society members who are passionate about sharing our local history with others.

CAFE’s and Treats in carnamah

I must confess that I’m a coffee fiend, so I love the fact that I can get a coffee from the Bush Basket & Post Office right beside the museum, or if I need something more substantial, I pop over to the One L of a Good Feed Cafe opposite the museum for a delicious toasted sandwich.

Its a lovely feeling strolling though the vintage farming and domestic equipment while sipping on a quality coffee watching Blue wag his tail and sniff curiously at everything. It really takes my blues away.

Bush Basket gifts, coffee, treats and Postal Services

Grab a scrummy coffee and a quality gift from the Bush Basket.

Something else we LOVE about the Post Office is JAKE! This beautiful golden retriever is always up for a play with Blue, or any nice dog that needs a bit of social stimulation. Pop by and give him a pat in the yard beside the Post Office, or, you can even ask the staff inside if its alright if your dog can have a play with Jake in the yard.

Dogs are welcome to sit at the outside tables of the One L cafe with their owners. There’s a water bowl present for your pooch to grab a drink from.

TRACTORS GALORE!

If vintage tractors gets your heart pumping more than a damn good coffee, be sure to visit the Hal Walton Tractor Museum at 5 Forrester Avenue, Carnamah. It contains an impressive collection of 60 vintage John Deer and Chamberlain tractors.
